BELMONT, Maine — A woman was arrested recently after police found drugs at her residence during a probation check.

Deputy Merl Reed was conducting a check on Feb. 28 at a residence belonging to Amy Doak, 29, when 13 packets identified as heroin were found, Waldo County Sheriff Jeff Trafton said.

Reed had also observed marijuana and drug paraphernalia upon entering the residence, according to Trafton.

Doak was placed under arrest and charged with possession of a Schedule W drug, a Class C felony, the sheriff said.

She was taken to the Waldo County Jail and later released on $700 bail.
