SANFORD, Maine — A Sanford man was arrested Monday accused of gross sexual assault against a teenage girl, York County Sheriff William King said.
Kyle Matthews, 23, was arrested without incident, according to King.
The alleged assaults on the 13-year-old victim occurred during 2013 and 2014, according to King.
“Matthews inappropriately touched the young victim and forced the victim to sexually touch him,” the sheriff said.
Matthews and his wife, with whom he is no longer with, were living at the woman’s parents’ home in Cornish at the time, and the victim was a family friend who often visited the residence where the assaults took place, King said.
Matthews was brought to the York County Jail and is being held without bail.
