AUGUSTA, Maine — A man mistakenly released from the Kennebec County Jail turned himself in Thursday night, according to officials.
Chief Deputy Ryan Reardon of the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office said Friday that Freeman Taylor, 41, turned himself in around 10 p.m., hours after he was released.
Taylor accidentally had been released from jail because of a clerical error after he was sentenced to 48 months in prison on a drug charge.
Reardon said Taylor will be brought to the Maine State Prison on March 17.
