SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine — New England Patriots defensive backs Devin McCourty and Malcolm Butler are scheduled to make separate appearances in Greater Portland this weekend.

Butler — whose late-game, goal-line interception preserved the team’s 28-24 Super Bowl XLIX victory over the Seattle Seahawks — is headlining an event Friday night at the Asylum night club in Portland.

McCourty is slated to greet patrons and sign autographs during the grand opening of a new Bob’s department store at 301 Maine Mall Road in South Portland Sunday, according to The Forecaster. McCourty recently signed a five-year contract to stay in New England after being drafted in the first round by the Patriots in 2010.

Bob’s — a Connecticut-based department store — replaces Eastern Mountain Sports in a 16,500-square-foot space next to Toys “R” Us. The South Portland location will be Bob’s first in Maine, and will be the first in the 35-store chain to carry camping and kayaking equipment, The Forecaster reported.

McCourty will be on hand at the store from 4:15 to 6:15 p.m. Sunday.

Butler will be at the Asylum from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, with general admission tickets on sale for $10 and VIP passes, which include personal meetings with the cornerback starting at 6:30 p.m., going for $100 apiece.

Townsquare Media and Quirk Chevrolet are the primary sponsors for the Butler appearance.
