ROCKLAND, Maine — A 78-year-old Washington man pleaded not guilty Monday to additional charges that he sexually assaulted a young girl last year.
Richard J. Miller entered his plea during a brief hearing in Knox County Superior Court before Justice Daniel Billings. Miller was originally charged last year with one count of gross sexual assault and one count of unlawful sexual contact. On Monday, four additional unlawful sexual contact charges were filed.
The offenses involve the same 12-year-old victim and are alleged to have occurred last June, according to court documents.
His case is scheduled to be on the July trial list. He remains free on bail.
