NEWRY, Maine — A 35-year-old man was killed while skiing Wednesday morning at Sunday River, according to a spokeswoman from the ski resort.

Officials said the man was skiing on “Black Hole,” a double black diamond trail, about 11 a.m. when he fell off the trail and ended up in the trees.

Officials are not releasing the man’s name but said he was an expert skier and was wearing a helmet.

Officials said he was pronounced dead at the scene.
