SANFORD, Maine — Four people from York County were arrested Thursday in connection with multiple burglaries in the county, according to a state police statement.

Charged with burglary and violation of probation are Carleton Young, 23, Cathy Carle, 21, and Marissa Vieira, 23, all of Sanford, and Brian Cerullo, 25, of Alfred.

According to the statement, all three suspects were connected to burglaries in Alfred, Lyman and Wells over the past week and had already been on probation for prior burglary convictions.

Police believe the trio was stealing jewelry and electronics from homes in order to support their heroin addiction. Large amounts of stolen jewelry were recovered, and police are asking for the public’s help in locating a diamond wedding ring with great sentimental value. It is engraved with the inscription BDL-CRD 9-15-73.

All four suspects are being held without bail at the York County Jail.
