Officials clinic
ORONO — The Maine Association of USA Track and Field will conduct a track and field
clinic for officials noon-4 p.m. Sunday, April 19, in the Orono Council Chambers, Town Office Building, 59 Main St. Registration is at 11:30 p.m.
The clinic is open to those who wish to officiate in track and field at the youth, high school or college level, and-or becoming certified or re-certified.
Don Berry, master official in the sport and the certification chairman for Maine USATF, will conduct the clinic. The clinic is designed to provide beginning and advanced levels of instruction, and will cover all aspects of track and field officiating, and rules review.
Track coaches and track parents who want to learn more about the rules are encouraged to attend the clinic.

There is no cost for the clinic. Track rule books will be available for purchase. Beverages and snacks will be provided.
Awards Banquet
BREWER — The Friends of Maine Hockey will salute the 2014-2015 University of Maine men’s ice hockey team at the annual Awards Banquet on Friday, May 8, at Jeff’s Catering in Brewer. The cocktail hour will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the buffet dinner following. The banquet is open to the public.
The event will feature a silent auction with dozens of gift packages, UMaine hockey collectibles, NHL memorabilia from former UMaine players and four senior road jerseys up for bid. All funds collected go directly to the men’s ice hockey program.
Individual tickets are $40. Tables of eight may be reserved for $320. Reservations must be made by Friday, April 24. Make checks payable to University of Maine and send to: UMaine Men’s Hockey Banquet, Friends of Maine Hockey, 5701 Alfond Arena, Orono ME 04469.
