A game-winning shot by the University of Maine’s Zarko Valjarevic has been nominated for the America East Conference’s men’s plays of the year, and a spin move to the basket by Maine’s Sigi Koizar has been nominated as one of the league’s women’s plays of the year.
Valjarevic hit a baseline buzzer-beating jumper to give Maine an 82-81 win over Wagner on Dec. 2, 2014, at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.
