PARSONSFIELD, Maine — York County Sheriff’s Deputies said they went to the residence of Darrion Daye, 21, of Parsonsfield on Friday evening because Daye was wanted on multiple felony warrants.

Once police located Daye, deputies said he refused to identify himself and fled into the woods, losing both his boots.

Police said he ran through the woods, dove into the South River and swam across in an attempt to elude the deputies.

Police said he was apprehended on the other side of the river and was administered first aid for exposure.

Daye was transported to York County Jail.

York County Deputies added the charges of Refusing to Submit to Arrest and Violation of Conditions of Release.

He is being held on $13,250 cash bail.
