Printing workshop
BANGOR — The University of Maine Museum of Art announced that it will hold arRelief printing workshop, Print Like Picasso! Exploring Color-reduction Relief Prints, with
instructor Amy Guadagnoli 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, April 18 and 25, at the museum, 40 Harlow St.
The cost is $100 museum members or students with a UMaine I.D. $110 others.
The Nite Show
BANGOR — The Nite Show is normally taped and produced by students and faculty of the New England School of Communications, a special episode as a preview for area high school students who may want to begin a career in broadcasting will be taped and produced by high school students, and have high school aged guests, musical talent and comedy. The taping day will take place 2:30-4 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, at the Gracie Theatre, Husson University. Those taking part in the taping are asked to arrive at the theater by 2:30 p.m.
Audience members be at least 14.
There is no charge, but paper or e-tickets must be presented for admission to The Nite Show.
Student art exhibition
ORONO — The University of Maine Department of Art will present the 2015 annual Juried Student Art Exhibition that features work by current studio art, art history and art education students.
The exhibition will be on display through May 1 in the Lord Hall Gallery on campus. More than 90 works of art were selected from more than 300 submissions in a range of media. Paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, collages and design, as well as sculptures and ceramic works are included in the exhibition.
The exhibition is free and open to the public. Lord Hall Gallery is open 9 a.m-4 p.m. Monday through Friday and is wheelchair accessible.
Orono Arts Cafe
ORONO — Orono Arts Cafe’s third annual Jazz and Poetry Jam. Performer will be held Friday, April 10, at the Keith Anderson Community House, Bennoch Road. Sign-up is at 6:30 p.m. The show starts at 7 p.m. Bring your favorite poem, brush up on a jazz tune or two to perform — other genres of music and spoken word welcome, as well — and plan to join the fun in this popular annual event. Performers get a coupon for a root beer float.
Admission $3 for all. Admission and refreshment sales support arts scholarships and programs for Orono schools.
