PORTLAND, Maine — City police have identified the Portland man who suffered serious injuries Friday when he was struck by a vehicle.
Mikhail Slussky, 75, was walking near the intersection of Allen Avenue and Yale Street shortly before 4:30 p.m. when he was struck by a 2008 Chevrolet Aveo driven by 74-year-old Mary Rinehart, also of Portland.
Slussky remains at Maine Medical Center, where he is undergoing treatment for serious injuries, Portland police Lt. James Sweatt said in an update Tuesday afternoon. Rinehart was not injured in the accident, he said.
The Traffic Division of the Portland Police Department continues to investigate the incident, Sweatt said, adding it does not appear alcohol or speed were factors.
