GORHAM, Maine — A teenager is accused of setting his Gorham home on fire. Crews arrived to heavy flames shooting out of the building on Valley View Road on Tuesday evening.
The majority of the main house was burned but first responders were able to get the fire under control.
Authorities say the teen accused of starting the fire lives there with his family but they aren’t saying how the fire started.
“We’re not ready to release this information other than that we’ve placed him under arrest,” said Chief Robert Lefebvre of the Gorham Fire Department.
Everyone made it out safely, including the family dog. The state fire marshal’s office is investigating.
