NEW GLOUCESTER, Maine — Some quick-thinking witnesses, who noticed a fire in New Gloucester, may have saved a life.

Firefighters say the witnesses not only called 911 and told a person inside to get out but they also threw snow on the fire to help put it out.

The fire at a mobile home on Lewiston Road started at about 3:30 Wednesday afternoon. It started on a side porch.

Firefighters managed to get the fire under control within minutes and they say the snow helped.
