PORTLAND, Maine — Portland police say they arrested a man on Delaware Court after he went in a neighbor’s home and assaulted her with a knife.
Charles Carswell, 47, was arrested Monday.
According to police, the victim said she was home alone watching television when she noticed Carswell standing over her with a knife. Police say she recognized him as someone who lived in the neighborhood.
Police say Carswell threatened her and they struggled. The victim reportedly suffered a cut on her hand but she was able to flee her home. Police say Carswell was found at his residence at 165 Delaware Court and arrested.
Carswell was charged with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, assault and burglary. He is being held at the Cumberland County Jail.
