BANGOR, Maine — After weeks of flood warnings and watches, the Mattawamkeag River was the only Maine river to remain under a flood warning on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
The warning applied to the section of river above the town of Mattawamkeag, according to weather forecasters at the Caribou office.
As of late Thursday afternoon, the water level stood at 14 feet, half a foot higher than flood stage. Minor flooding was reported in low-lying areas, including Bancroft Road between Wytopitlock and Danforth.
