SOMESVILLE, Maine — A 24-year-old local man was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs.

James Hall of Bar Harbor was charged with OUI at about 12:30 a.m. Saturday after his vehicle was found sitting on the side of the road along Route 102 in Somesville, according to Mt. Desert police Lt. Kevin Edgecomb.

The officer, who is a drug recognition expert, stopped to see what was going on and determined Hall had allegedly operated the vehicle under the influence of drugs, Edgecomb said.

Tests have not yet come back from the lab to determine which type of drugs were involved.

Hall was sent to Hancock County Jail where he remained incarcerated Saturday shortly before noon.
