RUMFORD — Rumford police say two males confronted a Waldo Street resident Friday night while he was working in his yard. One of the suspects demanded money while the other displayed a knife.
Police say a friend and family member attempted to intervene. They were also threatened by the man with the knife. One of the suspects fled the area after taking money from the victim.
Police later arrested Dustin A. Roberge, 21, of Rumford and charged him with robbery and criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon.
Roberge was taken to the Oxford County Jail and bail was set at $8,000 cash.
Police are still searching for the second suspect. Police say the case remains under investigation and more charges are anticipated.
