BOWDOIN, Maine — A 65-year-old Bowdoin man was crushed to death while working under his truck in his driveway Monday afternoon.

Alcide Castonguay reportedly had been working on his dump truck’s transmission and spoke to a neighbor about 1 p.m. before continuing his work, according to a news release from Chief Deputy Brett Strout of the Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office.

At 5:48 p.m., the Sagadahoc County Communications Center received a report of a deceased person pinned under a dump truck on West Burrough Road in Bowdoin.

Sheriff’s deputies, Lisbon police officers and Bowdoin Fire and Rescue personnel went to the home and found Castonguay’s body.

No additional information was immediately available.
