CARIBOU, Maine — A 25-year-old Dover-Foxcroft man and three Washburn juveniles were charged with possession of marijuana this week after they were spotted allegedly smoking pot in the parking lot of a local business.
Officer Douglas Bell investigated a call about the alleged smoking shortly after 7 p.m. Sunday and located several people standing in the parking lot, according to a statement released Wednesday by Caribou Police Chief Michael Gahagan. Bell noted a strong odor of marijuana and conducted a search of two vehicles in the lot, the chief said.
Bell seized 80 grams of marijuana with a street value of $800, pipes, scales, grinders, other paraphernalia and cash, according to the release.
The three juveniles were charged with trafficking in marijuana, possession of a usable amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Timothy Fogg, 25, of Dover-Foxcroft was charged with possession of a usable amount of marijuana.
All information was forwarded to the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.
Gahagan said members of the public were instrumental in the charging of the youths and adult in this case and commended them for coming forward.
