PORTLAND, Maine — Local police are seeking a pair of suspects in an armed robbery, according to Lt. James Sweatt.

Officers responded to the parking lot of Hannaford on Riverside Street shortly after 10 p.m. when two men approached a vehicle and demanded cash from the two occupants, Sweatt said. One of the robbers displayed a handgun.

The robbers got away with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled toward Forest Avenue, Sweatt said. No injuries were reported.

Both robbers are African-American males, and the first one stands 5 feet, 6 inches tall, has a chubby build with short curly black hair and was wearing dark clothing and a blue bandana over the bottom part of his face. This man displayed the gun, according to Sweatt.

The second suspect is slightly taller than 6 feet and was wearing a brown sweatshirt with a fur-lined hood pulled up over his head and a blue bandana over his face.
