SOUTH PORTLAND — A car crashed into the Dunkin Donuts on Main Street in South Portland on Sunday afternoon, according to the South Portland Fire Department.
Officials say a middle aged woman accidentally drove her car into the front of the building around 2:30 p.m. Sunday. She was not hurt, and no one inside was hurt.
Officials say the damage to the building is not serious, and the structure is OK. The owners just have to repair the front of the building.
The Dunkin Donuts will be closed for the remainder of the day Sunday. City officials will be there Monday to inspect everything before the business owners can reopen or rebuild.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, but officials say early signs show that the driver may have accidentally accelerated while parking.
