LOVELL, Maine — The Oxford County Sheriff’s Office said a man was shot by police early Wednesday morning.

The sheriff’s office said deputies responded to a call at around 1 a.m. Wednesday at Nuthatch Lane and called in the Maine State Police for help.

An individual was armed and creating a disturbance when officers arrived, the sheriff’s office said. That person was shot by police.

The person was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, but there’s no word on the person’s condition.

The Attorney General is investigating the incident.
