PORTLAND, Maine — A night removed from a combined 24-run output, the Portland Sea Dogs and Altoona Curve played a starkly different contest in game two of their series, with Altoona winning 2-1 Wednesday night at Hadlock Field.
Jason Creasy (4-0) earned the win and kept the Sea Dogs lineup quiet, throwing seven innings and allowing just one run on six hits while walking one and striking out three.
Mike Augliera (1-7) posted his third quality start of the season but got the loss, allowing two earned runs on eight hits in 6 ⅓ innings, walking two and striking out three.
Altoona scored both of their runs with two outs — first in the top of the first on an RBI double by Edward Salcedo, scoring Keon Broxton. The Curve extended their lead to 2-0 in the fifth on a two-out, RBI single by Josh Bell.
The Sea Dogs scored their lone run in the sixth inning on an RBI single by Oscar Tejeda, scoring Mike Miller. Tejeda extended his hitting streak to eight games and is hitting .457 over that span with six doubles, a home run, 11 RBIs, and 10 runs scored. Carlos Asuaje extended his on-base streak to 28 games with a walk in the bottom of the first inning.
