PORTLAND, Maine — Portland police are investigating a deadly motorcycle crash on Brighton Avenue Thursday morning. It happened near where Caleb Street intersects with Brighton Avenue in front of Maine Medical Center.
Lt. Strout of the Portland Police Department said the crash happened around 1:40 a.m. The motorcycle was the only vehicle involved and the driver was the only one on it.
Police are not releasing the victim’s name, however, they say he was driving a 2003 Harley and was not wearing a helmet.
Police say it appears he may have hit a tree but that is still under investigation.
Crews cleared the scene around 5 a.m.
Portland police continue to investigate the crash.
