BREWER, Maine — Water Department employees were working to repair a main break that occurred shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Wilson Street, a city police sergeant said.
The break happened in front of the Big Apple convenience store at 343 Wilson St., according to Sgt. Nelson Feero. He said that traffic was reduced to one lane and inbound traffic was being rerouted via State Street.
Motorists were advised to avoid the area if possible. Feero said Water Department personnel expected to complete the repairs Thursday evening.
