WESTBROOK, Maine — A man is facing a robbery charge after holding up a convenience store Friday, according to a police statement.

Shawn Boivin, 32, was arrested after officers conducted a felony traffic stop within minutes of him fleeing Art’s Variety on Spring Street, the statement said.

No weapon was displayed and the robbery was reported around 9:30 a.m., the statement said. Boivin fled the scene with cash and cigarettes.

Within minutes of getting a description of Boivin’s vehicle, police spotted and stopped it and the stolen cash and cigarettes were in the vehicle.

Boivin was charged with robbery and taken to the Cumberland County Jail.
