MONROE, Maine — Police have arrested a Monroe woman after she allegedly used her vehicle and a machete to damage the home of one of her family members.

Tracey Oliver, 38, was reported to be at the Jackson Road residence destroying property on the evening of Monday, May 18, according to a report from the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office. Officers who went to the home talked to Oliver, who told them “she was upset with the family member,” Lt. Jason Trundy wrote in a media release issued Thursday.

Sgt. James Greeley and Deputy Dan Thompson determined that Oliver had caused “considerable damage” to the property and the residence, Trundy wrote. Another family member told police that Oliver had threatened that individual with the machete, too, he wrote.

Oliver was arrested this week and charged with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon and aggravated criminal mischief. All are Class C crimes, each punishable by up to five years in prison and up to a $5,000 fine.

Her bail was set at $5,000 cash.

Trundy did not specify why there was a delay between the alleged incident and Oliver’s arrest.
