KENNEBUNK, Maine — Two men are facing charges after an investigation into a home repair scam, according to police.
Franklin Dee, 23, is accused of a transient seller registration violation in connection with checks he received from an 89-year-old man for work that had not been started, according to a statement from Kennebunk police.
Dee received nearly $5,000 in checks for home repair work that had not been started or contracted legally, the statement said.
During the investigation, police encountered another man, Patrick Fecteau, 28, of Biddeford, who had a warrant for failing to appear and was found to have heroin on his possession, the statement said.
Fecteau was charged with unlawful possession of a scheduled drug and violating conditions of release.
