MILBRIDGE — Registration is open for the annual Milbridge 5K scheduled for Saturday, July 25, during Milbridge Days. The top three male and female 5K racers will receive cash prizes. FORT KENT — The University of Maine at Fort Kent student affairs office will host a 7 vs. 7 soccer tournament at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 18, at the UMFK Sports Fields. ORRINGTON — The Bangor YMCA will host its annual Tri for the Y Sprint Triathlon 8 a.m.-noon Sunday, July 19, beginning at Brewer Lake boat launch in Orrington, to help raise funds for Bangor YMCA. Tri for the Y is a USA Triathlon-sanctioned event. Early registration discount available until April 19. Triathletes will swim 750 meters in Brewer Lake, enjoy the beautiful out and back course through Orrington in the 12.4-mile bike, and enjoy the views from the shores of Brewer Lake in the 3.1 mile out and back run. PORTLAND — Maine will be host to a unique triathlon on June 25-26. The Leisureman Triathlon was created for individuals who enjoy relaxing sports and friendly competition. Instead of swimming, biking and running, the Leisureman consists of bowling, golf and Texas Hold’em poker games. Created and organized by two Maine natives, the third annual event will begin on June 25 at Easy Day in South Portland for the three-hour bowling leg of the triathlon. On June 26, the competition will pick back up at the Falmouth Country Club for a full 18 holes followed by a tournament-style Texas Hold’em poker game. Proceeds will benefit Warrior Hike, a nonprofit organization that supports armed service veterans.
