ORRINGTON — The Bangor YMCA will host its annual Tri for the Y Sprint Triathlon 8 a.m.-noon Sunday, July 19, beginning at Brewer Lake boat launch in Orrington, to help raise funds for Bangor YMCA. PORTLAND — Maine will be host to a unique triathlon on June 25-26. The Leisureman Triathlon was created for individuals who enjoy relaxing sports and friendly competition. Instead of swimming, biking and running, the Leisureman consists of bowling, golf and Texas Hold’em poker games. Created and organized by two Maine natives, the third annual event will begin on June 25 at Easy Day in South Portland for the three-hour bowling leg of the triathlon. On June 26, the competition will pick back up at the Falmouth Country Club for a full 18 holes followed by a tournament-style Texas Hold’em poker game. Proceeds will benefit Warrior Hike, a nonprofit organization that supports armed service veterans.
