The Falmouth girls tennis team sent retiring coach Sandra Stone out in familiar fashion Saturday — as a state champion.

Falmouth won both the girls and boys Class A state championships at Lewiston High School, leading a second straight Western Maine sweep of the six titles at stake.

The Cape Elizabeth boys and Greely of Cumberland Center girls won the Class B crowns, while the Waynflete of Portland boys and North Yarmouth Academy girls were Class C champions.

Class A: The Falmouth girls capped off a 16-0 season by extending their consecutive match winning streak to 125 over a run of eight straight state titles and 10 overall during Stone’s 13-year tenure as head coach.

The Yachtsmen shut out previously undefeated Lewiston 5-0, yielding just 12 individual games in those matches.

Three-time individual state champion Olivia Leavitt led the way, defeating Lewiston top seed Maddi Roy without losing a game. Julia Brogan at second singles, Caroline Ray at third singles and the first doubles team of Kate Kelley and Amanda Watson each posted a 6-1, 6-1 victory, while Falmouth’s second doubles tandem of Mary Hyland and Meg Pierce defeated Lizzy Michaud and Chloe Morin 6-3, 6-3.

Lewiston, which ended Brunswick’s run of three straight Eastern A titles, finished its season with a 15-1 record.

Mount Ararat of Topsham sophomore Nick Mathieu, a two-time state singles finalist, fought off Falmouth top seed Aidam McGrory 7-6 (7-1), 7-5, but by then the Yachtsmen already had clinched the boys title with straight-set wins from No. 2 Alex Klemperer, No. 3 Peter Stegemann and the doubles teams of Jordan Bruce and Trey Fallon and Matt Adamowicz and Greyson Cohen.

This marked the second straight year Falmouth had defeated Mount Ararat in the Class A final. The Yachtsmen finished their season at 15-1 and Mount Ararat at 14-2.

Class B: The Greely girls finished their season at 14-2 with a sweep of their five matches against Eastern champion Mount Desert Island of Bar Harbor.

Two of the matches were extended to three sets, with Greely third seed Alex Tebbs outlasting MDI’s Maeve Geary 3-6, 6-4, 7-5 and the Rangers’ second doubles team of Sam Kennedy and Madelyn Day defeating twin sophomores Emily and Olivia McCarthy 6-2, 2-6, 6-0.

Greely’s top two singles players, Izzy Evans and Kathryn Pare, and the first doubles team of Mia Lambert and Jessie Hoffman won their matches in straight sets while losing a combined eight games.

MDI, making its first appearance in the state final since 1993, finished its season with a 14-2 record.

The Cape Elizabeth boys won their third straight Class B crown and 16th state championship overall with a 4-1 win over Camden Hills of Rockport.

This was a rematch of last year’s final won by the Capers 5-0, and while Camden Hills returned its team virtually intact this spring the Windjammers managed just a single three-set victory from the first doubles team of Jared Garske and Colby Arau.

Cape’s three singles players, Michael Mills, Luke Gilman and Ethan Murphy, all scored straight-set victories while the team’s second-doubles team of Conner Sullivan and Jimmy Salerno edged Camden Hills’ Josiah Simko and Alex Forcillo 6-7 (7-0), 6-4, 6-4.

Cape Elizabeth finished with a 13-3 record while Camden Hills is 14-2.

Class C: The North Yarmouth Academy girls won their first state title since the program’s four-year championship run between 2007 and 2010 with a 5-0 victory over three-time Eastern Maine champion and previously undefeated Van Buren (11-1).

The Panthers (13-3) secured the crown with five straight-set wins while dropping just five games, with top seed Lena Rich defeating Courtney Parent 6-0, 6-2 and No. 2 Mina Stam topping Felisha Bouchard 6-3, 6-0.

No. 3 Mary Morrison and the doubles teams of Hannah Chapman-Corinne Poitras and Livy Stam-Hannah Hungerford won their matches without dropping a game.

The Waynflete boys won their eighth straight state title by defeating a familiar foe, George Stevens Academy of Blue Hill, 4-1.

This marked the sixth straight year the Flyers had defeated GSA in the state final, but there was no shame in defeat for the Eagles — Waynflete’s 14-1 record this spring included victories over Class A state champion Falmouth and Class B titlist Cape Elizabeth.

Waynflete was led by state singles champion Isaac Salas, who defeated Tate Yoder at first singles. Brandon Ameglio and Clancy Mitchell also scored straight-set victories for the Flyers at second and third singles, as did Waynflete’s second doubles team of Jake Soley and Jacob Greene.

GSA (14-2) scored its point at first doubles, where Tim Dentino and Matt Stephens edged Peter Michalakes and Stephen Epstein in a match tiebreaker 0-6, 7-5, (10-6) after the team competition had been decided.
