LUBEC, Maine — A fire late Sunday night destroyed a home at 17 Dewey-Mowry St. in Lubec.

The owner, Doug Serrato, and his wife were home when they noticed the fire and called it in at about 11 p.m., according to Lubec Fire Department Chief Robert Hood. No injuries were reported.

“It was going good,” he said, referring to the size of the fire when firefighters arrived.

The 21 firefighters from Lubec had the fire extinguished in about two hours, he said.

Hood said he believes the cause of the fire is electrical but the damage was extensive enough that investigators may not be able to determine the exact cause.
