BANGOR, Maine — The season-opening, five-game extravaganza of American Legion baseball games scheduled to be played Sunday at Husson University has been cancelled due to predicted rain, according to Zone 1 commissioner Dave Paul.
Games to have been played matched Madison against the Coffee News Comrades of Bangor, Brewer against Post 51 of Oakland, Midcoast-Rockland against Motor City of Bangor, Penquis of Dover-Foxcroft against the Acadians of Blue Hill, and Waldo County of Belfast against R.H. Foster’s-Hampden.
Paul said those games will be rescheduled individually by the teams involved during the regular season, which now will begin Monday evening with a full slate of five seven-inning contests.
Those matchups have Coffee News-Bangor at Waldo County, Brewer at Madison, Acadians at Midcoast, Post 51 at Hampden, and Motor City at Penquis.
