SEARSPORT — Peter Kemble fashioned a three-hit shutout and stroked a double and a single with two RBIs to lead Coffee News of Bangor to a 10-0 Zone 1 American Legion baseball victory over Waldo County/Steamboat on Monday.

Kemble struck out seven for the Comrades, who received a double and a single from Trevor DeLaite, two singles and three RBIs from Ben Crichton and two singles from Sam Huston.

David Clark doubled to support losing pitcher Drew Stanley for Waldo County/Steamboat.

Motor City 13, Penquis 3

At Mahaney Diamond in Orono, Ryan Jurgiewich pitched five innings of two-hit shutout ball and Cody Collins drove in two runs with two singles to carry Motor City to the Zone 1 win.

Braden Upshaw and Tommy Burns each posted two singles and an RBI and Tyler Young singled twice for the winners. Ethan Stoddard added a triple.

Nick Hagan singled twice and knocked in a run for Penquis and Ryan Laffin doubled to support losing pitcher Brandon Young.

Brewer 6, Madison 4

At Madison, Alex Brooks spaced eight hits and gave up only two earned runs to help Brewer open its Zone 1 season with a win over Madison.

Brooks struck out five and did not walk a batter. Jack Corey sparked the offense with a double, two singles and two runs scored for the Falcons. Matt Pushard homered and singled with two RBis and Kobe Rogerson added two singles and an RBI.

Kyle Dugas led the ’39ers with a double, a single and an RBI. D.J. Allen singled twice.
