BANGOR — Tommy Burns tossed 6⅔ innings of six-hit, one-run ball to lead Motor City to an 8-3 Zone 1 American Legion baseball victory over Madison on Wednesday evening at Husson University’s Winkin Complex.
Eric Hoogterp spearheaded the offense with three singles, an RBI, two runs scored and three stolen bases.
Braden Upshaw homered for Motor City and also had a single. Adam Richardson hit two singles and drove in two runs and Billy Phillips also singled twice.
Chase Nelson doubled and singled for Madison and Derek LeBlanc tripled. Nelson pitched a complete game for the ’39ers.

At Oakland, Zachary Mathieu drove in two runs with two doubles and a single to lift Post 51 to victory over Coffee News of Bangor.
Jacob Dexter singled three times and knocked in two runs and Ben Poirier collected a double and two singles to support winning pitcher Ben Frazee.
Jordan Derrah, Sam Huston, Marcus McCue and Kyle Stevenson posted singles for the Comrades. Jimmy Prescott took the loss on the mound.

At Blue Hill, Jackson Gilmore doubled and scored two runs and Zach Nash added two RBIs to lead R.H. Foster of Hampden to victory over Trenton in Zone 1 action.
Brandon Smith picked up the pitching win in relief.

At Heddericg Field in Brewer on Wednesday, Jake Gauvin hit a run-scoring double and Tyler Maguire posted an RBI single to highlight a six-run eighth inning that lifted the Falcons to victory.
Gauvin earned the win in relief for the 2-0 Falcons, giving up three hits and one run with three strikeouts in 2⅔ innings. He also added a single and Kobe Rogerson singled twice.
Connor Graffam led Post 1 of Midcoast/Rockland (0-2) with a double, two singles and two RBIs. Oliver Brown singled twice and Aubrey Pennington singled and scored three runs.
