The three current videos posted on the “Little Peters’ Words of Wisdom” YouTube channel — all posted there within the last month — have attracted a total of more than 600,000 views.

And that total doesn’t count the nearly 200,000 who have watched “Little Peters” videos on the YouTube page of Portland radio station WBLM, 102.9 FM. Nor does it include four previous videos posted on the “Little Peters” page that had since been deleted.

Who is this surprise Internet star?

According to WBLM sister station WCYY and the Sun Journal, Peters is a 17-year-old native of Lee. With his high voice and thick Maine accent, Peters has charmed thousands of people with his matter-of-fact monologues on how to “cut some timbah,” why he “wants to be a NAS-cah drivah” or the merits of “drinkin’ Moxie.”

(Moxie, the somewhat medicinal tasting soft drink that’s the focus of a huge summer festival every year in Lisbon Falls, is “a man’s drink,” Peters declares. “It’s great for many things — it’ll put hair on your body, give you muscles, and it’ll also turn you into a man if you’re not a man.” Fair warning.)
