HAMPDEN — Connor Farmer cranked a two-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning on Thursday night to lift R.H. Foster to a 2-0 Zone 1 American Legion baseball victory over Waldo County at Bordick Park.
Zach Nash pitched seven shutout innings for the winners, while Alex McKenney earned the win in relief. Michael Turner singled twice for R.H. Foster.
Drew Stanley provided two hits for Steamboat to back hard-luck losing pitcher Matt Smith, who scattered eight hits while going the distance.

Motor City 22, Rockland 4
At the Winkin Complex in Bangor, Ethan Stoddard and Eric Hoogterp combined for nine hits and 10 runs batted in to pace a 20-hit attack that led Motor City past Rockland.
Stoddard stroked two doubles and three singles and drove in four runs while Hoogterp had a double and three singles and knocked in six.
Seth Pearson (3 RBIs), D.J. Monteith and Jordan Hanscom had two singles apiece for the winners.
Ollie Brown doubled twice for Rockland and Titus Kaewthong and Aubrey Pennington each had two singles.
R.H. Foster 4, Trenton 3
At Blue Hill on Wednesday, Jackson Gilmore doubled and scored two runs and Zach Nash added two RBIs to lead R.H. Foster over Trenton.
Nash had a key two-run, two-out double in the sixth to support Brandon Smith, who picked up the pitching win in relief.
Finn McMahon-Allwine paced Trenton with two hits and Will Ricker singled and scored in support of losing pitcher Conor Maguire.

At Heddericg Field in Brewer on Wednesday, Jake Gauvin hit a run-scoring double and Tyler Maguire posted an RBI single to highlight a six-run eighth inning that lifted the Falcons to victory.
Gauvin earned the win in relief for the 2-0 Falcons, giving up three hits and one run with three strikeouts in 2⅔ innings. He also added a single and Kobe Rogerson singled twice.
Connor Graffam led Post 1 of Midcoast/Rockland (0-2) with a double, two singles and two RBIs. Oliver Brown singled twice and Aubrey Pennington singled and scored three runs.
