PORTLAND, Maine — Police are investigating a series of residential burglaries in the Parkside and West End neighborhoods, according to a police statement.
About six apartments have been burglarized over the past week, according to police, with all the burglaries occurring during the daytime and early evening hours.
In each case, entry was made by cutting or removing screens or via unlocked windows, police said. In one instance, a resident was asleep in a bedroom while a suspect entered via a living room window, police said.
Stolen items included cash and electronics.
Police are advising residents to be vigilant and lock doors and windows, record serial numbers and take photos of valuables.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 874-8575.
