BANGOR, Maine — Residents in the downtown area will not have water for much of the day Monday as crews repair a leaking water main.
The Bangor Water District has turned off water on Main Street near the Broad Street intersection to fix a leak.
Water was expected to be shut off until 2 p.m. Monday.
Bangor Water District General Manager Kathy Moriarty said 17 buildings along Main Street between Broad and Union Streets were affected.
Moriarty said the water district sent out notices to businesses and apartment tenants notifying them of the leak repairs.
