HAMPDEN, Maine — Nick Guerrette pitched a complete-game four-hitter as the RH Foster’s Hampden Riverdogs defeated the Brewer Falcons 6-3 in an American Legion Zone 1 baseball contest Monday night..

Guerrette struck out six and walked just one.

Jackson Gilmore sparked Hampden with a home run, a single and two RBIs. Michael Turner chipped in with two doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored. Billy Campbell had a double, single and a run scored. Casey Sudbeck, Nick Guerrette, and Jordan Dysart also singled.

Michael Grimble led the Brewer with a double, a home run and two runs scored. Chase Allen and Dylan Soper each singled.

Post 51 6, Penquis 1

At Foxcroft Academy in Dover-Foxcroft, Cody Martin pitched six innings of scoreless baseball to lead Post 51 of Messalonskee by Penquis.

Post 51 broke open a scoreless contest in the top of the third with a bases-loaded double by Dylan Hapworth, scoring all runners.

Jonathan Wilkie and Cody Martin added RBI hits in the top of the sixth along with an A.J. Godin single in the seventh to extend the lead to six.

Penquis plated its lone run in the bottom of the seventh when Matt Spear reached on a fielder’s choice and scored on a throwing error.

Martin registered eight strikeouts and only two walks during his outing, with Jake Dexter yielding the lone unearned run in the seventh. Hapworth paced Post 51 with two doubles and three RBIs.

Nate Church pitched six innings of five-run baseball against a potent Post 51 lineup. Aron Smestad pitched the seventh for the Navigators. Smestad and catcher Brooks Law delivered the only hits for Penquis, each tallying singles. Law also threw out three baserunners without allowing a stolen base.

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor Friday night, Carter DeRedin singled home Logan Rogerson and Michael Gimble drew a key bases-loaded walk to rally Brewer by Coffee News of Bangor in the 11th inning.

Alex Brooks turned in a strong pitching effort for Brewer as he scattered five hits over eight innings, striking out two. Bangor’s Trevor DeLaite held Brewer to four hits in eight innings while striking out 10.

Jake Gauvin came on in relief to earn the win for the Falcons with three scoreless innings, giving up just a hit and striking out two.

The Falcons scored their first run in the eighth when Rogerson tripled home Gauvin, but Bangor responded in its half of the inning when DeLaite’s sacrifice fly brought in Ben Crichton.

Rogerson sparked Brewer with his triple, single and RBI while Sam Huston doubled and singled for Bangor.

At Machias, Machias rallied for 10 runs in the sixth inning to earn the victor in the Little League all-star game for District 1.

Ayden Wannemacher sparked Machias with a double and two singles. Drew Abelon chipped in with a double and Kason Fergeron singled. Ethan Libby and Fergerson held the Acadians of Bar Harbor to one hit.

Quentin Pileggi gave up just one hit and struck out 12 in five innings of work for the Acadians. He also singled.

At Bar Harbor, Ellsworth used some assertive baserunning and strong defense to beat the Acadians in the Little League all-star game for District 1.

It was the tourney opener for both teams and they will meet again on Wednesday in Ellsworth.

Sara Shea notched two hits and scored two runs for Ellsworth while Rachelle Swanson recorded a triple and three RBIs for Acadian.

Winning pitcher Brenna Patten struck out nine.

Coaches are required to list information for both teams, with first and last names of players. Info should include key highlights and stats for leading hitters and pitchers.
