OLD TOWN, Maine — Officials have determined there was too much damage to uncover a cause of a blaze that leveled a multi-unit Main Street home last week.
Sgt. Tim York of the State Fire Marshal’s Office said the cause of the June 25 fire was undetermined.
York said the fire started on the second floor of a garage, and the building is a total loss. It displaced nine tenants, but no one was injured.
The blaze drew firefighters from five communities to the residence just west of downtown Old Town. The residence had no working smoke detectors.
