Organ recital series
BANGOR — St. John’s Organ Society announced that its the 23rd Summer Recital Series on Maine’s largest 19th-Century tracker-action pipe organ, E. & G. G. Hook’s magnificent Opus 288, will take place at 7:30-8:30 p.m. Thursdays at St. John’s Roman Catholic Church, 207 York St., in Bangor. The 2015 series will feature outstanding organ music performed by artists from New England. The schedule is:
- July 23, George Bozeman of Deerfield, New Hampshire, music of Bach, Frescobaldi and Hindemith.
- July 30, Chris Pelonzi with Nicole Pelonzi, flute, Portland, music of Handel, Franck and Liebermann.
- Aug. 6, Abraham Ross of Holden, music of Bach, Brahms and Vierne.
- Aug. 13, Sarah Johnson of Garland, music of Mendelssohn, Bolt and Sweelinck.
- Aug. 20, Susan Ferre of Gorham, New Hampshire, music of Tournemire, Langlais and Vierne.
- Aug. 27, Kevin Birch of Bangor, music of Buck, Parker and Schumann.

Dramatic Academy
BANGOR — The Penobscot Theatre Dramatic Academy Summer Camp Session 2 is now accepting registrations. Session dates are July 27-Aug. 16. Performances will take place Friday through Sunday, Aug. 14-16.
Participants age 13 to 20 will perform “Much Ado About Nothing.”
Children age 4 to 12 will perform “A Great Big Deal Over Nothing.”
