MADISON, Maine — A Boston-area woman died Thursday at the Yonder Hill Campground in Somerset County, according to the sheriff’s department.
When deputies arrived shortly before 8:30 p.m., campers were performing CPR on Yen Ngo, 35, next to a swimming pool, according to Chief Deputy James Ross.
Ngo and her husband and two children had been camping at the campground, according to Ross.
The chief deputy said a person at the campground was riding by the pool area on a four-wheeler when he saw Ngo floating face down in the pool. The man was able to get her out of the pool and start CPR until deputies and rescue personnel could arrive.
Ngo was brought to Redington-Fairview Hospital in Skowhegan, where she was pronounced dead, Ross said. An official cause of death has yet to be determined. The medical examiner’s office is investigating.
