HAMPDEN, Maine — Joe Archambault’s two-run single in the top of the eighth inning lifted the Trenton Acadians by the RH Foster Hampden Riverdogs 3-1 in American Legion Zone 1 baseball action Friday night.
Conor Maguire was the lone repeat hitter for Trenton with two singles. Beckett Slayton added a double.
Trenton’s Gage Feeney turned in a strong pitching performance, going the distance while giving up one run on five hits while striking out seven.
Tommy Farrar was the hard-luck losing pitcher for RH Foster, throwing pitching a complete game and giving up three runs on eight hits with six strikeouts. Billy Campbell doubled and scored to pace RH Foster.

Coffee News 4, Post 51 0
At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, Trevor DeLaite pitched a six-hit shutout to lead Coffee News of Bangor to a win over Post 51 of Oakland in Zone 1 American legion action. DeLaite struck out nine and did not issue a walk in the one-hour, 20-minute game.
Andrew Hillier tripled and singled for Coffee News and Delaite added a triple and two RBIs. Ryan Brookings drove in a run with a double and Sam Huston also drove in a run.
Zach Mathieu singled twice for Post 51 while Dan Pooler, Spencer Folsom, Adam Littlefield, and A.J. Godin all singled.

At Bar Harbor, Ellsworth erupted for 12 runs in the fourth inning to defeat Acadians in their mutual all-star softball opener.
Allie Pickering hit an RBI triple and Victoria Watkins posted a run-scoring single with two runs scored for the winners. Alicia Havey (single, 3 walks) and Alyssa Maguire (single) each scored two runs. Winning pitcher Casey Carter struck out eight in four innings and Hannah Wagstaff fanned three in an inning of relief.
Emily Carter stroked an RBI single to lead the Acadians.

At Bar Harbor on Thursday, Nate Philbrook hit an RBI double and Ethan Merchant provided a run-scoring single during a two-run sixth inning that lifted the Acadians to victory over Machias.
Merchant also stroked a two-run triple in the second inning for the 3-0 Acadians, while Sam Mitchell belted a solo home run and Brady Renault doubled to spark the winning rally.
Porter Isaacs picked up the win in relief of Renault, striking out two.
Gabe Taylor paced Machias (1-1) with a triple and a sacrifice fly. Kyle Anderson and Riley Wright each singled and scored.

At Bucksport on Thursday, Brady Findlay drove in three runs with a double and a triple and Ty Giberson posted two singles and knocked in three runs to power the Bucksport ages 11-12 all-stars to an 18-0 District 1 victory over Coastal on Thursday.
Colton Trisch scattered two hits with four strikeouts before Brady Kennedy got the final two outs via strikeouts. Kennedy also singled with two RBIs.
Marcus Candage and Nick Kane each had a single for Coastal.
