NORWAY, Maine — A woman accused of scamming the state out of bottle deposit money says she didn’t do it.

57-year-old Linda Goodman of Norway pleaded not guilty to charges that she used food stamps to buy bottled water, then dumped out the bottles and returned them for cash.

She’s accused of buying $125 in water bottle cases, pouring the water out, then returning the bottles to get back $38. If convicted, she faces a $2,000 fine and nearly a year in jail.
