HERMON — Andrew McLaughlin of Harrington and Ryan Deane of Winterport battled hard much of the way, but McLaughlin finally seized the lead on Lap 44 on the way to the checkered flag in the 50-lap Hopkins Landscaping Series Late Model feature at Speedway 95 on Saturday night.

Deane was the runner-up, followed by Nick Jenkins of Milo, Brenton Parritt of Steuben and Wayne Parritt Jr. of Steuben.

Trey Brown of Winterport, a 15 year old Rookie in the Darling’s Ford Sportsman Division, won his second feature of the season, leading all 25 laps, but only won by a car length. Kris Matchett of Skowhegan challenged Brown over the final three laps following a caution caused when Matchett and Shane Tatro of Levant made slight contact on the backstretch after running side by side behind Brown for second. As a result of the contact, Tatro spun into the infield, bringing out the race’s only caution. Following the restart, Brown was able to keep Matchett at bay for the final three laps for the win. Matchett finished second, followed by Deane Smart of Bradley in third. Tatro recovered to finish fourth with Ralph Melanson of Corinth finishing fifth.
