EAST MACHIAS, Maine — A woman was flown to Boston with serious injuries following a crash on July 11.
Baylee Smith, 19, address unavailable, was driving a red 2006 Ford pick-up truck east on Route 191 in East Machias when she went off the roadway and flipped, coming to rest upside-down at about 1:18 p.m.
Driver inexperience and inattention were factors in the crash, police said.
Smith, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, had not been wearing a seat belt, police said.
No other information was available Monday.
Assisting at the scene were members of the Maine Warden Service, Maine Marine Patrol, Baileyville Police Department, Machias Ambulance, East Machias fire crews and LifeFlight.
