PORTLAND, Maine — A Peaks Island woman will spend three years in prison on a heroin charge, according to the U.S. attorney’s office.
Ashley Gross, 26, pleaded guilty to a charge of conspiring to distribute and possess heroin on March 11 and was sentenced by Judge Nancy Torresen on Tuesday. Gross also received three years of supervised release.
From March to November 2013, Gross was a part of a drug trafficking ring that distributed heroin and crack cocaine in Greater Portland.
Conspirators brought the drugs from out-of-state suppliers to residences. They also fielded telephone calls from customers.
Runners, including Gross, delivered the drugs to customers in exchange for cash.
