PORTLAND, Maine — Six Portland Sea Dogs will compete in front of their hometown crowd when the Eastern League’s Sullivan Tire All-Star Classic begins at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hadlock Field.

Third baseman Carlos Asuaje, shortstop Marco Hernandez, first baseman Jantzen Witte and pitchers Madison Younginer, William Cuevas and Robby Scott will represent the Sea Dogs, the Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, on the Eastern Division team when they take on the Western Division stars.

Cuevas, a right-hander, will get the start for the Eastern Division against righty Joe Biagini of the Richmond Flying Squirrels, a San Francisco Giants affiliate. Cuevas is 8-5 with a 3.40 ERA, 34 walks and 80 strikeouts, while Biagini is 7-5 with a 1.91 ERA, 18 walks and 58 strikeouts.

Each roster has 24 players with each of the 12 Eastern League teams represented by at least one pitcher and at least one position player. Portland’s Billy McMillon is managing the Eastern Division and Richmond’s Jose Alguacil is guiding the West.

The game is sold out, but will be telecast on NESN and broadcast on Portland radio station WPEI 95.5/95.9 FM, with the feed also on www.seadogs.com.

The gates at Hadlock open at 3 p.m. with batting practices and autograph sessions held from 3 to 4:35 p.m., followed by a home run derby at 5:15 p.m.
