PORTLAND, Maine — City police are searching for two men who robbed a man and a woman at gunpoint on Forest Avenue on Wednesday night.

According to Assistant Chief Vernon Malloch, the 26-year-old man and 32-year-old woman, both from Windham, were talking outside their cars in the Tortilla Flats parking lot when the robbers approached around 10:20 p.m.

The suspects demanded money and searched the victims before taking a purse and a mobile phone and fleeing into the Wellesley Estates apartment complex. No injuries were reported.

The suspects are described as African-American and were wearing dark hooded clothing. One man stands between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 7 inches tall with a thin build, while the other man is about 6 feet 1 inch tall with a medium build.
